That Nintendo Wii, it sure looks shiny and new, at least, the ones you see in the stores bolted to their displays look shiny and new. They don’t seem to be nearly as supply-constrained as the XBox 360 when it was released last year. When I saw how much those sold for on Ebay, I stopped by my local Target at least once a week to see if I could grab one just so I could sell it. <\/p>\n
Though I’ve been playing computer games off and on since about 1984 or so, I’ve never owned a game console. With a little encouragement from my brother-in-law, I realized there’s not much reason for me to pay $250 for a console, let alone go out of my way trying to find one, when I’ve never really played any of the games that are out for ANY of the last-generation consoles. He told me about a couple of fun games for the Gamecube, and the idea spent a couple weeks rolling around in my head. <\/p>\n
Last week I told Scott, who really wants to pick up a Wii, I think due in no small part to the fancy wireless controller, and he thought it was a good idea, too, so on the way back to our neighborhood from work, we dropped by EB Games and picked up a couple of reconditioned Gamecubes and a large handful of games. For less than half the cost of a new Wii, I get a new (to me) Gamecube with five games. <\/p>\n
