It’s early March, the days are noticably longer, and on good days like today, the sun is shining brightly and the temperatures are lifting up in to the 60’s. With the family out of town, it’s the perfect day for a right, right? <\/p>\n
Well, yes, but I’m still going to find something to complain about. Today is a perfect day for a ride, but it’s also a perfect day to recoup a few of those burned calories downing my favorite fancy coffee drink, a small mocha with no whipped cream. Too bad there are no coffee shops along any of my bike routes! <\/p>\n
I could ride the road bike out towards Appling then loop back in towards Evans, but then I’ve got to ride a while on Washington Road to get to either of the open coffee shops I know to be open on Sunday, and I don’t recall seeing a bicycle stand at either of those places. <\/p>\n
Or, I could ride the mountain bike down the canal towpath to Augusta, but of course, with Augusta sucking as much as it does, there isn’t an open coffee shop down there, either. <\/p>\n
If I were in a beer mood, I could ride to Mellow Mushroom and grab an appetizer and a cold one, but I’m just not in a beer mood today.<\/p>\n
I think the best option would be to make my way to Serendipity by riding up Gibbs Road from the neighborhood across from the Government Center complex. That way I’d only be on Washington for a short block. That doesn’t solve the bike rack problem; I wonder if the owner would let me take the bike inside? <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
