{"id":124,"date":"2005-08-02T05:34:54","date_gmt":"2005-08-02T10:34:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/auroralux.net\/blog\/2005\/08\/02\/tiger-imap-workaround-discovered\/"},"modified":"2005-12-09T07:27:53","modified_gmt":"2005-12-09T12:27:53","slug":"tiger-imap-workaround-discovered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fhmiv.net\/blog\/2005\/08\/02\/tiger-imap-workaround-discovered\/","title":{"rendered":"Tiger IMAP workaround discovered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following up on my problems with <a href=\"\/blog\/2005\/06\/28\/working-around-tiger-imap-mail-problems\/\">IMAP in Tiger<\/a>, I&#8217;ve finally been rewarded for my diligent <a href=\"http:\/\/bugreport.apple.com\/\">bug reporting<\/a> with a solution! <\/p>\n<p>I knew all along that incompatible mail bundles had the potential to break Mail.app, so I made sure to remove any bundles as soon as I found Mail wasn&#8217;t working. The only bundle I had was GPGMail. <\/p>\n<p>What I didn&#8217;t know, and this is the key issue, perhaps I should post to the Apple forums about this as well, is that InputManager bundles can also cause the same sorts of problems. In my case, I had followed Scott&#8217;s suggestion to check out a little program called <a href=\"http:\/\/angeman.perso.cegetel.net\/iAlert\/?language=en\">iAlert<\/a>. I used it for a few days, then decided I didn&#8217;t need it so I turned it off and deleted the application. Unfortunately it had installed several other files it was also necessary to remove, including the culprit, \/Library\/InputManagers\/iAlertHelper. <\/p>\n<p>At least my IMAP works now!
