After five years of watching the lead in big bike races, especially the one day classics, slip away from George Hincapie while we sit in our easy chairs and yell and groan, COME ON GEORGE, YOU CAN DO IT, and then being dissapointed when it slipped away, today we finally got to watch him bring it home. He got in an early break that got nearly 20 minutes on the Yellow Jersey group, he didn’t do too many pulls all day because his boss, The Boss, was still in front of the bike race, so tactically he rode the right race and decisively gapped his only remaining breakaway companion with 250 meters to go on Pla d’Adet. Lance even said George might be Discovery’s man for the title next year!
